Thank you for lending a hand to create homes for young people who are living without them.

You may be interested to learn about one indigenous youth who came to NYSA looking for a place to live. He was from outside of Nanaimo, and had no family or friends that could help him get off of the street. This individual was 16 years old, didn’t know how to contact social services, get identification or other help that he needed. NYSA’s youth housing became his home. NYSA outreach workers helped him get identification and help from the Ministry of Child and Family Development. This youth has since moved out of our housing development to live on his own and is back in school and working part-time. That is the kind of work that your support allows us to undertake.

Please help us spread the word about Roughing It. Use the hashtag #NYSARoughingIt in your social media posts and send your friends and colleagues to nysa.bc.ca/roughingit so they have the opportunity to help as well.

Thanks again.
