Who We Are
Nanaimo Youth Services Association (“NYSA”, “we”, “us”) operates nysa.bc.ca and related donation experiences. We are a non-profit organization based in British Columbia, Canada.
Scope
This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information on nysa.bc.ca and connected donation/registration pages, including secure forms hosted at donate.nysa.bc.ca and on trusted partner widgets (e.g. CanadaHelps).
What we collect

- Payment information: processed securely by our payment processor; NYSA does not store full card details.
- Website/analytics data: IP address, device/browser details, pages viewed, and interactions collected via Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
- Cookies or similar technologies for site functionality and analytics.
How we use your information
- Process donations, issue tax receipts, acknowledge gifts, and manage donor records.
- Communicate about programs, events, and impact (you can unsubscribe any time).
- Improve our website and campaigns using aggregated analytics.
- Meet legal, auditing, and reporting requirements.
Service Providers
We use trusted vendors to operate our services, including:
- CiviCRM (Drupal) for donor/contact records and donation forms.

- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Google Signals for aggregate, cross-device reporting.
- Email/newsletters: CiviMail.
These providers may store or process data outside Canada (including the U.S.). We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Google Analytics disclosure
We use GA4 to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 may set cookies and collect usage data; if Google Signals is enabled, Google may associate visits across devices for signed-in Google users (reported to us only in aggregate). You can manage Google ad settings or use available opt-outs.
Legal basis & consent (BC PIPA)
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent and for reasonable purposes connected to our programs and fundraising. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal/contractual limits and reasonable notice.
Retention & security
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law and apply safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information in our custody, and you may ask questions or make a complaint about our privacy practices.
