BladeRunners:

Linking contractors, trades people and construction sector employers with youth. A Youth Skills Link, wage subsidy program intended to provide employment to out of school and unemployed youth 15-30 years of age, with employment opportunities and trades training in the construction sector.

BladeRunners is a Youth Skills Link program that creates valuable employment opportunities, and promotes Individual Success and Independence through Partnerships within the Construction & Trades Industry.

In this you will:

  • Be encouraged to participate in a pre-employment training program

  • Obtain skill enhancements such as: WBC Occupational First Aid - Level One, WHIMS, Fall Protection & Ladder Safety, Construction Hazards, Respiratory Protection, Traffic Control Person Certification, Forklift Operator Certification,  and other related tickets.

  • Participate in Construction Safety and Awareness Training.
  • Receive career development support and guidance.
  • Receive Individualized job coaching, tutoring and mentorship
  • Be assisted into employment and apprenticeships where possible
  • Be guided and supported through the apprenticeship process
