Live In Maintenance Caretaker

NYSA is seeking to fill one part-time position for Live-In Maintenance Caretaker, with on-call expectations, for their 21 unit Youth Housing Complex.

Qualifications: Previous residential maintenance experience is essential. Jack or Jane-of-all-trades an asset. Some heavy lifting. Vehicle required. An understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and knowledge of Crisis Intervention an asset.

Remuneration is $1362.86 (monthly) + $240.00 taxable benefit, based on a flexible 25 hour work week; full benefits upon completion of probationary period. A two bedroom suite, including hydro and cable for nominal rent of $110.00 per month. Parking spot provided.

Youth Employment Program Team Leader & Program Assistant

Nanaimo Youth Services Association seeks dynamic individuals to assist in the coordination of an innovative program, which assists employment disadvantaged youth to access training and find employment across various industries. The successful candidates will blend strong job development and marketing skills with sound knowledge of the construction /trades and customer service industries. The successful candidates will also have excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, and a well-developed capacity to support and assist at-risk youth.

The Team Leader position is a 35 hours per week term certain position; starting immediately or as soon as possible; which will require the incumbent to complete a successful criminal record check, have relevant training/education in the Human Services, possess a valid BC Driver’s License, and to be reimbursed for use of own vehicle for work-related travel. Competitive wage and benefits. The program is delivered out of Courtenay.

The Program Assistant position is a 21 hours per week term certain position; starting immediately or as soon as possible; which will require the incumbent to complete a successful criminal record check, have relevant training/education in the Human Services, possess a valid BC Driver’s License, and to be reimbursed for use of own vehicle for work-related travel.
